Resolutions to Go BEYOND

HERE we are at the end of another calendar year. Many will say, “Where did 2016 go?” Most people do seem to agree that the years fly by faster and faster. Time is a funny thing so it is hard to really assess. How do you compare whether this year went faster than any other year? There is really no way to compare because there is no measure except within your own mind. One thing we can all agree on is that we do live in a “fast paced” world. WE try to pack in so much because there are more choices than ever. It is hard to be selective and not get distracted (being busy).

As this year ends, many of you will be making resolutions or resolving to do things differently. Doing things differently usually means getting some balance or healthy handles on the way you live your life. You might consider that you will take a look at how you spend your time and try to achieve more balance doing things you enjoy. You might think of eating more healthy or spending in a more balanced way. There are many options for new “resolve” to “do” things differently.

May I offer up a way to go beyond the resolutions of the past? Thank you! Beyond is a word that indicates something else or the other side of something (can be thought of in the physical or the abstract). I am using beyond to mean going past the physical realm and transcending the past. I am using it to mean going farther than what you previously experienced. I am also asking you NOT to compare anything with what you have done in the past. I am asking you to start with a clean screen.

A blank screen-think of it…going beyond what you think is possible. Of course, to me and what I write about, that means allowing a take over! Take over means that you allow the Highest Power in the Universe to direct your course. YOU get to imagine and dream the ideal way you would live, but with the knowing that God has a larger measure of what that will bring. His measuring stick is not limited to time, physical dimensions or what we call, “impossible.” God is outside of time and space. Nothing is impossible unless you create a bubble to live in that limits God.

As you set your resolve setting for 2017, set your sights on HIGH. Know that you are highly favored, loved and contain the Gift of Promise. The Promise is that all you need will be supplied for all you hope or imagine. Going beyond the promise requires that you use faith as the substance from which things will be made. Always remember, we are as we think! When you think, trust, and allow your imagination to go beyond, “you can rest assured (be sure of) that what you hope for, and certain of what you can’t actually see yet, will be materialized in the physical realm” (Hebrews 11:1).

The Holy Spirit is your Helper to keep this kind of faith alive every single day and moment of 2017! Resolve to speak your new reality into existence by going beyond what you have ever hoped or imagined (Ephesians 3:20). You have nothing to lose and everything to gain with this resolve!!!
